First time I made three-dimensional works, it was for my solo exhibition, Mamihlapinatapai, on Valentine Willie, Kuala Lumpur. “Mamihlapinatapai” is a word in the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego (South America) which originally means “a look shared by two people, each wishing that the other would initiate something that they both desire but which neither wants to initiate”.
Can we really capture a moment? Anyway, in this particular work I was talking about how I see Christians in Indonesia.
